Campus Media’s Annual Volunteer Day

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Armed with a healthy dose of goodwill towards others, Campus Media Group  hit the road for our inaugural volunteer day on Friday. This year we gave back to our community by volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, a Minnesota-based non-profit organization with additional locations in Illinois and Arizona. Their mission – “Feeding God’s Starving Children Hungry in Body and Spirit” – became our mission for the day and we dove in. With our teamwork we were able to help feed 16 kids  every day for an entire year.

It was a fun and rewarding volunteer event for all of us. Not only did we get to help starving children in nearly 70 countries, we got to work as a team towards a noble goal. We are planning to make our volunteer day an annual event – any suggestions on where we should head next year?

Campus PSA partnership puts education first

Minnesota-based college marketing agency Campus Media Group is pleased to announce a partnership with She’s the First – an organization that sponsors girls’ education in the developing world to help them be the first in their families to graduate.

She’s the First Through this partnership, Campus Media Group will provide PSA placement services in hundreds of college newspapers across the U.S. to help spread awareness of the organization’s mission and encourage students to start a campus chapter.

“Being chosen for Campus Media Group’s annual PSA program is a dream come true for She’s the First as we encourage college students from across the country to change the life of a girl in the developing world. Campus publications reach those who already know the benefit of an education, and we hope students will give back by helping send a girl to school who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so,” She’s the First Campus Coordinator, Monica Townsend said.

Currently, there are ten campus chapters in the U.S. that host one fundraiser per semester for a girl in need and work to spread awareness through their residence halls, student centers, local communities, and social media.

Free College Newspaper Advertising

Bloomington, MN (June 29, 2010) — In its annual effort to provide PSA placement in college newspapers for organizations looking to reach college students, Campus Media Group has begun accepting applications for this year’s College Newspaper PSA Program.

College YouthEvery year, Campus Media selects one nonprofit organization that has an important message to share with college students. Campus Media will work to have that organization’s PSA ad placed in some of the nation’s top college and university newspapers free of charge for the 2010-2011 school year. Hundreds of college newspapers throughout the United States participated last year, giving away more than $100,000 in free advertising.

Campus Media is a leading college marketing agency that represents more than 1,800 college newspapers nationally. Its extensive experience working to place ads for national brands has gained the agency solid credibility in college media outlets. “We have great relationships with campus newspapers, and they have always been very generous in providing ad space for our PSA program,” says Joel Eisfelder, Director of Media for Campus Media.

In previous years, Campus Media has worked to build awareness for organizations such as: amfAR, The Campus Kitchens Project, the National Council on Problem Gambling, the National Psoriasis Foundation, and the National Students of AMF.

Staci Barfield, Executive Director of the National Students of AMF Support Network, says, “Campus Media Group was great to work with. Their coverage in college newspapers across the country was terrific, and the number of inquiries generated as a result of the PSA campaign has been phenomenal.”

This program is open to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. Those organizations looking for national exposure to a college audience about a cause that will resonate with students are encouraged to apply.
