Via YPulse, are werewolves getting short shrift in the era of Twilight and True Blood? Zombies have certainly had their day (and night, and dawn) and may be poised to make yet another comeback. No surprise there, that’s what zombies do, typically at a comical pace.
I’ve always found the werewolf more interesting because of it’s dual nature. Most of the time, they are normal people. It’s only under a full moon that the werewolf appears as a monster, and often without control. I think a great story could be developed based on that characteristic – think Jekyll & Hyde – yet most of the werewolf genre has been closer in quality to Teen Wolf than Bram Stoker’s Dracula. An American Werewolf in London would be at the top of my list for werewolf movies, but that film is already 28 years old. Are there other quality instances that I’ve missed?
